Role Description
The Operation Theatre Technician / Technologist is a full-time, on-site role based in Dubai, responsible for supporting safe and efficient surgical procedures.
Daily tasks include preparing operating rooms, ensuring sterile conditions, organizing surgical instruments and equipment, and assisting the surgical team before, during, and after procedures.
The role involves checking and maintaining theatre equipment, coordinating with nursing and anesthesia teams, and adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
The technician / technologist also helps with patient positioning and transfers, manages surgical supplies and consumables, and contributes to accurate documentation and compliance with hospital standards.
Collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams and commitment to high-quality patient care are essential.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong technical production and equipment handling skills relevant to operating theatre setup and maintenance.
- Candidates should demonstrate proficiency in lighting and operating room environment management to support optimal visibility and safety during procedures.
- Candidates should have well-developed customer service and patient-focused skills to ensure respectful, compassionate, and professional interactions.
- Candidates should possess performing arts–related skills such as poise under pressure, precise coordination, and adherence to protocols, supporting smooth surgical team dynamics.
- Diploma or degree in Operation Theatre Technology or an equivalent allied health qualification.
- Previous experience as an Operation Theatre Technician / Technologist in a hospital or surgical center, preferably in cosmetic or elective surgery.
- Knowledge of sterilization techniques, infection control practices, and operating room safety standards.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by surgical schedules.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Fluency in English; additional languages commonly spoken in the region are an advantage.
