The role includes assisting management with employee-related activities and serving as a point of contact for guest-service issues.
Guest service and front desk
- Confirm reservations, assign rooms, issue and activate room keys, and set up accurate guest accounts.
- Process room charges and cash, checks, debit, and credit payments; assist with payment-processing problems.
- Follow up on guest satisfaction and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve guest calls, requests, and problems.
- Manage room blocks and guest requirements, and secure alternative accommodations when the property cannot honor a reservation.
- Coordinate with housekeeping to track room readiness for check-in.
Shift and team duties
- Review shift logs and daily memos, document pertinent information, count the bank, and balance and deposit receipts to accounting specifications.
- Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
- Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions; complete safety training and follow company policies.
- Maintain confidentiality, professional appearance, quality standards, and positive working relationships; communicate clearly with guests and colleagues.
Preferred qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- At least 1 year of related work experience is preferred.
- No supervisory experience is listed as required.
Schedule and workplace
- Full-time schedule.
