Network Engineer in the Engineering/Transportation department, reporting to the Project Manager or Construction Manager.
Responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and managing organizational LAN/WAN networks and supporting their security and availability.
Responsibilities
- Design, install, and configure LAN, WAN, and other network infrastructure.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues.
- Maintain routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless access points.
- Implement security measures including firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection and prevention systems.
- Manage IP address allocation and DNS and DHCP configuration.
- Collaborate on IT projects, maintain network documentation and diagrams, and follow network policies and standards.
- Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing; provide on-call support for critical incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in network engineering, administration, or related roles.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, and other networking protocols.
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Juniper, or similar network hardware.
- Familiarity with firewall technologies and monitoring or diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or PRTG.
- Strong understanding of network security best practices.
- CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent certifications are a plus.
- Familiarity with SD-WAN, VoIP, unified communications, or cloud networking is noted.
Work arrangement
- Work location is in person in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
