Network and Security Engineer

Role overview

Hybrid network design and management

• Design and manage network infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Implement and configure hybrid networking solutions, including VPNs and integration between on-premises and cloud resources.
• Monitor and optimize network performance across hybrid environments for seamless connectivity and reliability.

Cloud security and management

• Implement and manage security measures for cloud resources, particularly Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and enforce cloud security policies covering identity and access management, data encryption, and compliance controls.
• Monitor and analyze cloud security events using Azure security tools and other monitoring solutions.

Security implementation and management

• Configure and manage Fortigate and Sophos security appliances, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and anti-malware solutions.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and address security weaknesses.
• Respond to and investigate security incidents, providing analysis and remediation.

Compliance, monitoring, and reporting

• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards, with GDPR and HIPAA given as examples.
• Implement and maintain network and cloud security best practices, including access controls, data protection, and secure network architecture.
• Monitor network traffic, security events, and cloud activity using network monitoring and SIEM tools.
• Report on network performance, security incidents, and compliance status and recommend improvements.

Support and documentation

• Provide technical support for network and security issues to internal teams and end users.
• Maintain documentation for network configurations, security policies, and incident reports.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices.

Experience and qualifications

• At least three years of network and security engineering experience.
• At least three years of experience managing hybrid IT environments.
• Experience with network and security appliances from vendors such as Cisco, Fortigate, Palo Alto, or Sophos; the posting states applicants without this experience should not apply.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure and familiarity with Fortigate and Sophos products.
• English is listed as preferred.

Pay

• Pay is AED 3,500–5,000 per month.
