Role overview
Administer and support MongoDB databases across development, staging, production, and disaster recovery environments.
Database operations
- Manage replica sets, replication, sharding, and high-availability configurations.
- Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and migrate databases.
- Monitor database health, performance, capacity, storage, and replication lag.
- Troubleshoot complex database issues, performance bottlenecks, and production incidents.
- Implement backup, restore, disaster recovery, and periodic recovery testing.
- Manage authentication, role-based access control, auditing, encryption, query analysis, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Automate routine DBA tasks, monitoring, alerting, and maintenance; maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, and vendor teams; support availability, reliability, compliance, incident management, and on-call duties when required.
Required qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience as a MongoDB DBA, with MongoDB as the primary specialization.
- Valid MongoDB certification relevant to database administration.
- Proven experience administering and supporting MongoDB in production environments.
- Strong knowledge of replication, replica sets, backup and recovery, performance tuning, security, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with MongoDB upgrades, patching, monitoring, capacity planning, and automation.
- Experience with MongoDB Enterprise and/or MongoDB Atlas.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and scripting.
- Understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, and production database operations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Additional advantages
- Hands-on PostgreSQL administration experience is an advantage.
- PostgreSQL certification is an advantage.
Pay
- AED 18,000–20,000 per month.
