Project overview

Mace is delivering a major, multi-phase development in Dubai focused on international events, business activity, and tourism.

The MEP Manager oversees MEP design and delivery activities for the development.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise review, coordination, and management of MEP design packages through pre-contract and post-contract stages.
  • Manage consultants, specialist designers, and contractors to ensure technical compliance, buildability, and programme alignment.
  • Review MEP specifications, drawings, technical submissions, and procurement deliverables.
  • Support contractor tender reviews, technical evaluations, and recommendation reports.
  • Monitor on-site MEP installation against approved designs, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate interfaces between MEP systems, architecture, structure, and infrastructure packages.
  • Oversee technical issues, design changes, and contractor queries.
  • Manage testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, and handover.
  • Monitor programme progress and performance, identify risks, and implement mitigation measures.
  • Support engagement with clients, operators, authorities, consultants, and contractors.
  • Promote health, safety, and quality best practice across MEP activities.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in mechanical, electrical, or building services engineering.
  • Chartered status or working toward professional accreditation is preferred.
  • Relevant experience delivering major building, infrastructure, or mixed-use developments.
  • Strong MEP experience across pre-contract and post-contract phases.
  • Experience in design reviews, technical coordination, procurement support, and on-site construction management.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary consultants, contractors, and specialist subcontractors.
  • Strong understanding of testing, commissioning, and handover for complex facilities.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders in a fast-paced project environment; strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.

Workplace and flexibility

  • The project is in Dubai and the role includes monitoring MEP installation on site.
  • Part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options may be discussed if suitable for the role.
