About This Role

Overview

We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team.

The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional patient service and administrative support within a busy medical office.

This role requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with EMR/EHR systems, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures.

Experience

with various clinic management software is highly preferred.

The Medical Receptionist will play a vital role in maintaining efficient office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally at the front desk, managing multi-line phone systems with excellent phone etiquette
  • Schedule patient appointments using EMR/EHR systems
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately
  • Collect payments and perform medical billing tasks
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure proper filing of patient documents in accordance with health information management standards
  • Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration and data entry using computer skills and typing proficiency
  • Manage appointment reminders, rescheduling, and cancellations to optimize clinic flow
  • Support clinical staff by coordinating care plans and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations by safeguarding patient confidentiality during all administrative activities
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies to support smooth clinic operations

Experience

  • Previous experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment is highly desirable
  • Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems is preferred
  • Familiarity with health information management standards and insurance verification processes
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus to effectively serve diverse patient populations
  • Excellent customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a busy office setting
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in documentation review and data entry
  • Office management or administrative experience in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset
