Job Summary
We are seeking a professional and compassionate Medical Receptionist with a healthcare background to serve as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and medical staff.
The ideal candidate will have experience in a hospital or medical center setting, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage front-desk operations while maintaining patient confidentiality and a high standard of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist patients, visitors, and staff in a courteous and professional manner
- Schedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments
- Register patients and verify personal, medical, and insurance information
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) accurately
- Handle incoming calls, inquiries, and referrals efficiently
- Coordinate with nurses, physicians, and other departments to ensure smooth patient flow
- Process billing information, co-payments, and insurance documentation when required
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and hospital privacy policies
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming reception area
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry

- Diploma or certification in Medical Administration, Healthcare, or a related field
- Previous experience as a receptionist in a hospital, clinic, or medical center
- Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and multitasking skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with insurance verification and medical billing
- Multilingual abilities
- Strong customer service orientation with a patient-centered approach
Work Environment
- Hospital or medical center setting
- May involve shift work, including evenings, weekends, or holidays
