Mechanical Technical Engineer

Role overview

Project engineering and team coordination

• Ensure shop drawings align with design drawings, specifications, and details and are coordinated with other disciplines.
• Ensure drawing submissions meet target schedules and quality expectations.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable local authorities, health and safety requirements, standards, and project specifications, including QCS 2014.
• Maintain company policy and procedure adherence and support satisfaction of the client, consultant, main contractor, and MEP project manager or construction manager.
• Guide technical engineers and draftsmen through project engineering activities, assign targets, and allocate responsibilities.
• Review and approve mechanical shop drawings and design calculations before submission.
• Review and sign off mechanical material technical submittals before issuing them to the consultant.
• Review and approve method statements against project specifications and authority requirements.
• Coordinate reviews and approvals with other technical departments, including architecture and structural teams.
• Support HSE initiatives, safety awareness, and incident reporting and resolution.

Experience and education

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• At least 8 years of work experience, including at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Two years of GCC experience is a plus.
• UPDA Certified Engineer or certification with attestation.

Knowledge and skills

• Technical background and ability to prepare and maintain tracking schedules.
• Technical knowledge of mechanical engineering parameters and the construction field.
• Knowledge of mechanical codes and standards, NFPA, and local regulations.
