Mechanical Project Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review mechanical designs and CAD drawings using REVIT and BIM.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, including main-contractor and client teams.
• Manage project schedules, supplier RFQ scopes, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Supervise installation and commissioning activities and resolve engineering issues on site.
• Support quality, safety, and performance audits.
• Participate in client meetings and prepare progress reports.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering and project delivery processes.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering and Project Engineering, including application of principles to complex MHS systems.
• Proficiency in CAD and REVIT for mechanical layouts, assemblies, and technical drawings.
• Coordination skills covering planning, building interface requirements, REVIT and BIM clash detection, resource coordination, and risk mitigation.
• Experience with MHS including Pallet ASRS, Tote ASRS, conveyor systems, GTP, lifters, and AGVs; coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Project management certifications such as PMP are an advantage.
• Practical experience in warehouse, airport, or logistics projects; GCC or similar environments are ideal.
• Understanding of relevant international and local codes, including EN, ISO, DIN, or GB, plus standards and safety regulations.
• Effective communication and reporting skills and ability to collaborate with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Ability to work on-site, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to fast-paced project environments.
