Role overview
Create detailed 2D and 3D mechanical drawings for water and wastewater treatment systems, including P&IDs, equipment and piping layouts, and fabrication drawings.
Coordinate with engineering, production, and design teams to ensure drawing accuracy and project alignment.
Support documentation, BOQ preparation, and as-built drawings in accordance with industry standards and internal quality systems.
Drawing and design development
- Prepare P&IDs and develop general assembly and equipment layout drawings for treatment systems.
- Create fabrication drawings for skids and equipment, including structural and mechanical components.
- Design 2D and 3D piping layouts for skid-mounted and containerized plants.
- Prepare as-built piping drawings, isometric piping drawings, and machine or component drawings for custom plant equipment.
- Generate PVC and stainless-steel BOQs for plant assemblies.
Electrical, coordination, and quality
- Prepare wiring diagrams and electrical schematics for control panels and associated systems.
- Liaise with Sales, Process Design, and Production to resolve design and production issues and support design integrity and manufacturability.
- Manage drawing revisions, distribution, archiving, traceability, and approvals.
- Ensure drawings and documentation meet the IMS, relevant industry standards, and company procedures.
Requirements
- Diploma or Technical Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 5 years of progressive mechanical drafting experience in water or wastewater treatment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and 3D and other relevant mechanical or piping design software.
- Experience with P&IDs, GA drawings, fabrication drawings, and wiring diagrams; ability to prepare BOQs, isometric drawings, and as-built documentation.
- Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook skills; familiarity with document control and IMS is a plus.
- Attention to detail, planning, organization, problem solving, and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 7,000–12,000 per month.
