The Mechanical Design Engineer designs, coordinates, and prepares mechanical building-services drawings and calculations for engineering consultancy projects.
Systems include HVAC, plumbing, drainage, firefighting, and other mechanical services, designed to UAE regulations, Abu Dhabi codes, and client requirements.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare detailed designs for HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, storm water, and ventilation.
- Calculate cooling loads, pressure loss, pipe sizing, and equipment solutions.
- Develop design reports, specifications, BOQs, and technical documentation.
- Check designs against Abu Dhabi codes, DMT, civil defence, and international mechanical codes.
- Coordinate projects, review designs, provide technical solutions, and prepare authority approvals.
- Develop designs using AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and BIM.
- Maintain accurate drawings and calculations and uphold quality assurance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering; an equivalency certificate is preferred.
- At least 10 years of mechanical design experience in engineering consultancy.
- Proven experience in industrial and steel-structure-related projects.
- Valid UAE driving licence required.
- DMT professional engineer status is preferred.
