Managing Quantity Surveyor

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Lead commercial management, cost control, budgets, forecasting, and financial reporting on major projects.
• Produce and review CVRs, cash flow forecasts, and project performance reports.
• Manage commercial risks, opportunities, negotiations, subcontract procurement, and supply chain partners.
• Administer NEC contracts, contractual compliance, change control, compensation events, and commercial recovery.
• Build stakeholder relationships, support value engineering, and ensure governance and process compliance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors.

Experience and qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities, power, energy, civil engineering, or construction projects.
• Relevant experience as a Managing Quantity Surveyor, Senior Quantity Surveyor, or Commercial Manager on major projects is sought.
• Strong NEC3 and NEC4 knowledge and experience managing cost, performance, risk, change, and financial reporting are required.
• A degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline is required.
• Membership of, or progress toward membership of, RICS, ICES, CIOB, or a similar body is sought.
