Role overview

Leadership and delivery

• Leads Senior Buyers, Buyers, and Graduates; sets direction, allocates resources, manages performance, and develops capability.
• Owns portfolio procurement performance and converts strategy into project plans, package strategies, routes to market, and schedules.
• Oversees high-risk procurement, stakeholder alignment, supplier relationships, governance, tendering, negotiations, and award approvals.
• Reports on delivery, supplier performance, risks, opportunities, and decisions; improves controls and embeds lessons learned.

Essential requirements

• Procurement leadership experience in construction, infrastructure, utilities, energy, or another complex project environment.
• Experience managing procurement professionals and delivery across multiple projects or a defined portfolio.
• Strong strategic sourcing, tendering, supplier evaluation, negotiation, contract award, and supplier performance knowledge.
• Commercial and contractual awareness; stakeholder influence; strong communication, analytical, organisational, systems, reporting, and governance skills.

Desirable qualifications

• MCIPS or active progress towards Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply is desirable.
• A degree or equivalent professional qualification in procurement, supply chain, commercial management, quantity surveying, business, engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
