Job Summary
The Logistics Supervisor runs SPT's day-to-day logistics operations, moving inbound and outbound freight reliably, lawfully and on cost.
The role coordinates customs clearance through the Company's contracted broker, engages and supervises third-party hauliers, and directly supervises the Company's own fleet operations.
As the Company builds its own fleet, the role takes operational charge of it, working alongside the Logistics Coordinator on scheduling, documentation and records.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on logistics and transport experience in the UAE, of which at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Demonstrable working knowledge of UAE customs procedures and freight documentation.
- Proven experience managing third-party customs-clearance agents and coordinating clearance through to release.
- Proven experience engaging and supervising subcontracted hauliers, including rate negotiation within set limits and performance monitoring.
- Direct experience supervising road-transport drivers and fleet operations.
- Working knowledge of UAE traffic and transport regulations.
- Sound cost-control discipline and the ability to work to a logistics budget.
- Strong organisation, coordination and problem-solving under operational pressure.
Desirable
- Awareness of dangerous-goods movement requirements for chemicals and oilfield cargo.
- Experience in freight forwarding and the oilfield, energy or chemicals supply chain.
- Familiarity with transport or logistics management systems.
- Valid UAE driving licence.
- Pay: AED6,000.00 - AED10,000.00 per month
