Role purpose

Exercise operational control and supervision of Emirates flights in accordance with GCAA regulations, supporting safe and compliant operations.

Act as a coordination link between flight crews, ground operations, and third-party service providers.

Flight planning and release

  • Plan routes and altitudes, negotiate user-preferred routes with relevant ATC organizations, and calculate fuel requirements.
  • Select required alternate airports and conduct ETOPS diversion and ETP strategy analysis.
  • Calculate take-off and landing performance, regulated weights, and performance penalties; coordinate payload impact with operations control, Skycargo, and load control.
  • Optimize commercial payload by adapting route, speed, and altitude within legal requirements.
  • Prepare and sign flight releases, file ATC flight plans, and provide flight release, computer flight plan, and briefing documents to crews in time.

Flight monitoring and disruption support

  • Negotiate airport and airway slots with government agencies to manage potential delays.
  • Monitor flights through safe touchdown, considering weather, technical problems, airport availability, traffic flow, and security threats.
  • Develop alternative action plans when flights risk leaving a safe operating envelope, coordinating recovery with ATC, engineering, station staff, and crew.
  • Support crew decision-making and troubleshooting, and assist the Dispatch Duty Manager during disruption events.
  • Periodically quality-check GHA briefing and dispatch services at outstations during route familiarization flights.

Qualifications and skills

  • GCAA dispatch license plus at least one year exercising its privileges; or an ICAO dispatch license recognized by GCAA, an issuing-authority verification letter, and at least three years exercising its privileges.
  • Alternatively, at least five years of documented major-airline dispatcher experience where a dispatch license does not exist or is not required.
  • Proficiency in computerized flight planning and computerized flight watch.
  • The role is identified as safety sensitive.

Salary and benefits

  • The posting describes an attractive tax-free salary but gives no salary amount or payment cadence.
  • Benefits include travel discounts, leave and healthcare coverage, transport benefits, and life insurance.
