Lead Procurement – Heavy Equipment & Transport

Role overview

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in a related field.
• Ability to handle a team of more than three members.
• At least two years of procurement experience; the posting also describes 2–3 years as preferred, particularly in logistics, heavy equipment, or oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of vendor sourcing, negotiation, and purchase processes.
• Familiarity with spare parts, equipment, and fleet-related procurement.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office or procurement or ERP software.

Procurement and sourcing

• Manage end-to-end procurement of heavy equipment, spare parts, tools, and consumables.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard local and international suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations; negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
• Issue purchase orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.

Vendor management

• Build and maintain relationships with existing and new vendors.
• Evaluate supplier performance on quality, cost, and delivery reliability.
• Resolve disputes related to pricing, quality, or delayed shipments.
• Maintain an updated vendor database and approved supplier list.

Fleet and equipment support

• Coordinate procurement of automobile and heavy equipment spare parts and consumables to minimize fleet downtime.
• Work with workshop and maintenance teams to forecast parts requirements.
• Ensure critical spare parts are available for heavy transport and lifting equipment.

Inventory, cost, and compliance

• Monitor stock levels and reorder points to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Analyze market trends and pricing to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Prepare procurement budgets and track spending against targets.
• Maintain procurement records, contracts, and purchase history; comply with company policies and ADNOC vendor requirements.
• Prepare regular procurement reports for management review.

Coordination

• Liaise with operations, finance, and logistics teams to align procurement with project timelines.
• Support budgeting and forecasting for upcoming projects and equipment needs.
