Role overview

Responsibilities

• Support process-industry design work and assist engineers and design or discipline managers with project engineering.
• Verify source data and concepts; prepare the engineering document deliverable register in coordination with relevant disciplines and client or contract dates.
• Prepare electrical design documents and calculations using SmartPlant Electrical, AutoCAD, MicroStation, ETAP, cable sizing, and DIALux.
• Address relay settings and coordination, CT sizing, and additional topics including OHL, GIS, EHT, CP, OLCMS, IPCS, and VSD.
• Prepare RFQs, material requisitions, and technical bid evaluations; review vendor documents against purchase order requirements.
• Prepare or review calculations, drawings, specifications, and other design outputs; review other-discipline and subcontractor deliverables.
• Coordinate client reviews and approvals, inter-discipline submissions, technical queries, and procurement inputs needed for design.
• Incorporate health, safety, quality, and constructability requirements and comply with applicable laws, authority, and project requirements.
• Participate in E-HAZOP, HAZID, FAT, SAT, commissioning, and pre-commissioning; coordinate as-built preparation.

Qualifications and experience

• BSc or MSc in engineering.
• At least 15 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or chemical industries, including at least eight years in a senior role.
• Experience with FEED and EPC projects and delivery to ADNOC Onshore is required.
• Experience with a reputable engineering consultant is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; collaborative, resourceful, and solution-oriented approach.

Technical knowledge and languages

• Familiarity with ADNOC standards, IEC, and BS is required.
• Fluent English is required; Arabic is an added advantage.

• The position is part of the company’s Abu Dhabi Operations.
