Lead Developer

Role overview

Delivery and team leadership

• Own delivery from requirements and technical design through task breakdown, sprint execution, and release.
• Refine requirements, define sprint scope and timelines, and communicate status, risks, and trade-offs.
• Enforce code review, testing, and production-readiness standards.
• Assign and prioritize work, resolve blockers, and run standups, planning, and retrospectives.
• Mentor engineers through reviews, pairing, and design discussions.

Engineering work

• Contribute code to critical system components and drive decisions on APIs, data models, caching, queues, and service boundaries.
• Design and review third-party API integrations, including travel, payments, messaging, and calendar providers.
• Promote CI/CD, automated testing, infrastructure as code, and workflow automation.

Technology stack

• Frontend and mobile: React and React Native.
• Backend: Node.js, REST and event-driven microservices; AI services: Python, FastAPI, LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, and RAG.
• Databases: PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
• Infrastructure: AWS, including ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, SQS/SNS, and CloudWatch.

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading a team or acting as a tech lead on delivery-critical projects.
• Production experience with Node.js and React, with React Native experience or strong willingness to lead mobile delivery.
• Working proficiency in Python and experience building or reviewing FastAPI services.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, and hands-on AWS production workloads.
• Track record delivering features from product brief to production, including scoping, estimation, task breakdown, and delivery management.
• Strong communication, cross-stack debugging, architecture judgment, and experience unblocking teams.

Strong pluses

• Experience with workflow engines, browser or task automation, or agentic AI pipelines.
• Experience with LLM products, prompt engineering, RAG, vector databases, agent frameworks, or LLM observability.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures, message queues, third-party APIs, infrastructure as code, containers, or React Native app-store releases.
• Prior experience in a fast-moving startup or 0-to-1 product environment.
