Lead Design Engineer – R&D (mechanical design and conveyor systems)

Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and assemblies using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and support prototype testing and product validation.
• Lead troubleshooting and implement practical design improvements.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, procurement, and QA teams to ensure design feasibility.
• Select suitable materials and components for conveyor applications.
• Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, and other applicable engineering standards.
• Support design reviews and continuous product improvement initiatives.

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Five to six years of mechanical design experience using SolidWorks.
• Strong experience designing belt, roller, chain, screw, and carousel conveyor systems.
• Experience executing complete conveyor projects through design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of load calculations, structural analysis, and conveyor component selection.
• Experience integrating conveyors with PLCs, sensors, and control systems.
• Good understanding of CNC machining, welded fabrication, sheet metal, and material selection.
• Familiarity with ASME and ISO standards.
• FEA or CFD knowledge is an added advantage.

Experience Verification

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills are expected.

Compensation

• The stated pay range is AED 6,500 to AED 8,500 per month.
