Role overview

Lead business analysis across projects in FCDO Services' Digital and Data technology team.

Support cost-effective solutions for government business needs and users, contributing to a data-driven future.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver analysis and establish standards, templates, and output assurance across projects.
  • Produce reusable artefacts and analyse business rules, data models, and user documentation.
  • Translate complex business needs into testable requirements.
  • Represent the business group at governance boards, committees, and design authorities.
  • Mentor analysts and provide expert consultancy to stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
  • Review requirements, manage dependencies, and maintain standards, risk, compliance, and change.
  • Monitor delivery metrics and feedback; improve analysis methods and promote evidence-based decisions.

Requirements

  • Translate business needs into well-defined user stories and requirements; perform as-is/to-be process mapping and gap analysis and develop change plans.
  • Have a track record working with senior leaders and stakeholders and mentoring or managing colleagues.
  • Be able to lead business analysis and service design for complex IT or digital services.
  • Have a Computer Science or IT degree, a professional-level Business Analysis certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • Be able to design secure or air-gapped government platforms and know the relevant NCSC, GDS, and UK government security frameworks.
  • Be a confident collaborator able to lead co-design workshops and apply human-centred design.
