Role overview

Role responsibilities

• Establish analysis standards, templates, and assurance to maintain consistency, traceability, and alignment with government capability frameworks.
• Produce reusable business artefacts and analyse business rules, data models, and user documentation.
• Translate complex business needs into testable requirements.
• Represent the business group at governance boards, committees, and design authorities, and mentor the analyst team.
• Provide expert consultancy and collaborate with third-party suppliers on requirements, dependencies, and standards.
• Manage risk, compliance, and change; monitor delivery metrics and feedback; improve methods and promote evidence-based decisions.

Candidate requirements

• Translate business needs into user stories and well-defined requirements; perform as-is and to-be process mapping and gap analysis, and develop change plans.
• Bring a track record of collaboration with senior leaders and stakeholders and the ability to mentor and manage colleagues.
• Be able to lead business analysis, service design, and delivery of complex IT or digital services.
• Have a Computer Science or Information Technology degree, professional-level Business Analysis certification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Be able to design secure or air-gapped platforms in the government sector and know relevant NCSC, GDS, and UK government security frameworks.
• Be able to lead co-design workshops and apply human-centred design methods.

Salary and benefits

• The listed salary range is £62,561–£65,371, with a £1,750 location allowance.
• The role includes a Civil Service Pension with an employer contribution of 28.97%.

Contract and working pattern

• The contract is permanent and the working pattern is full-time.
