Lead Application Support Engineer

Role Overview

Workplace Model

• DTCC offers a flexible hybrid model with three days onsite and two days remote.
• Onsite days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and a third day selected by the team or employee.

Primary Responsibilities

• Verify team analyses and implement changes to prevent incident recurrence.
• Resolve critical application alerts, production defects, and minor enhancements while providing business impact analysis.
• Review and update knowledge articles and runbooks with application development teams.
• Collaborate with internal teams on application issues and escalate as needed.
• Validate and submit responses to ongoing audit information requests.
• Execute disaster recovery scripts during outages and provide business continuity evidence.
• Identify and implement automation to reduce manual application monitoring effort.
• Partner with development teams during application design and development.
• Execute application deployment plans and end-to-end vendor application upgrades.
• Align risk and control processes with daily responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• At least 6 years of related experience.
• At least 5 years of application production support and team management experience.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of system administration, configuration management, resource sharing, and operating system fundamentals.
• Knowledge of application support, basic programming, and log reading and analysis.
• Experience with UNIX, Linux, Windows, and VMware platforms.
• Knowledge of networking and storage technologies including TCP/IP, EMC, NetApp, HP, and Cisco.
• Knowledge of Oracle, Sybase, MS SQL, DB2, Greenplum, and Snowflake databases.
• Knowledge of WebSphere, WebSphere MQ, Java, JRE, and Nutanix middleware technologies.
• Knowledge of mainframe platforms and familiarity with Cobol, JCL, DB2, and CICS.
• Knowledge of MQ, FileAid for DB2, SPUFI, CA View, and ServiceNow.
• Knowledge of clustering technologies including Veritas, Red Hat, and VMware vSphere.
• Knowledge of cloud computing technologies including AWS, CloudWatch, CloudFormation, and Azure.
• Ability to automate, write Perl or Python scripts, or implement system solutions.
