Kitchen Helper supports the kitchen team with food preparation, cleaning, organization, and general kitchen duties.
The role supports chefs and kitchen staff while maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
Responsibilities
- Assist with basic food preparation, including washing, peeling, cutting, and preparing ingredients as instructed.
- Receive, store, organize, label, and properly handle food and kitchen supplies.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, workstations, equipment, utensils, dishes, and storage areas; dispose of waste properly.
- Prepare equipment and ingredients before service and follow instructions from kitchen supervisors and chefs.
- Follow food safety and hygiene rules; maintain personal hygiene and wear required uniform and protective equipment.
- Assist with stock counts and report damaged, expired, or low-stock items.
- Support the kitchen during busy periods and carry out other assigned kitchen duties.
Requirements
- Previous Kitchen Helper experience is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of kitchen operations and food hygiene.
- Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen and stand for long periods.
- Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Good hygiene, discipline, and work attitude.
