VORTEXEN UAE is seeking a Junior Civil Engineer – CAD to support engineering and project activities in Abu Dhabi.
The role is full-time and work is in person.
The posting specifies a minimum of two years of experience since graduation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, modify and update AutoCAD civil drawings, including 2D layouts, plans, sections, elevations and construction details.
- Read and interpret civil, architectural, structural and MEP drawings; check dimensions, levels, specifications and revisions.
- Assist with BOQs, quantity calculations and material take-offs.
- Support project and site teams with drawing clarifications, technical coordination and site visits; monitor civil works as required.
- Coordinate with procurement and project teams on drawings and material needs, and with consultants, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Identify drawing discrepancies and site-related technical issues; maintain drawing and technical-document records.
- Assist with as-built drawings and project handover documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum two years of experience since graduation.
- Strong practical knowledge of AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Good understanding of civil engineering drawings, construction practices, construction materials and civil works.
- Experience with quantity estimation and material take-offs; ability to read architectural, structural and MEP drawings.
- Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Word.
- Attention to detail, drawing accuracy, communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Experience
- UAE construction or engineering projects; industrial, commercial, infrastructure, MEP-related or civil construction projects.
- Civil construction and site coordination, technical drafting or CAD documentation.
Performance Areas
Accurate, timely CAD drawings and quantity calculations or material take-offs.
Proper drawing revision and document control; timely support to engineering and site teams.
Compliance with project specifications and effective stakeholder coordination.
