The Junior Buyer manages vendor selection and partnerships and supports buying for noon Minutes, a hyper-local grocery and FMCG delivery platform.
The role monitors industry trends and competition and may attend major markets as feasible and necessary.
Buying and commercial responsibilities
- Analyze weekly stock and sales to monitor brand performance against sales plans.
- Review planned deliveries against sales targets, category and price mix, and stock levels.
- Use product and pricing analysis to inform pricing strategy and manage spending within budget.
- Negotiate supplier terms to achieve target margins in line with buying strategy and KPIs.
- Gather market and trend information to inform buying decisions and assess product performance.
- Identify strong- and weak-selling items, recommend selection improvements, and report to senior management.
- Build supplier relationships, secure timely delivery and favorable credit terms, and replenish stock accurately.
- Maximize sales and margins through product price positioning, design, specifications, and target-cost considerations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a similar field.
- Some exposure to the eCommerce industry.
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Strategic commercial thinking, analytical skills, and a critical mindset.
- Strong technical skills in Microsoft Office or Google Suite.
- Strong oral and written communication for cross-organizational project work.
