Position Summary

We are seeking a talented and driven **Junior Sous Chef** to support kitchen operations and assist in delivering exceptional culinary experiences across our concepts.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sous Chef and Head Chef to ensure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, hygiene, and team performance while contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Sous Chef and Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
  • Ensure food is prepared, cooked, and presented according to established recipes and quality standards.
  • Supervise and support Commis Chefs, Demi Chefs de Partie, and Chef de Partie team members during service.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation to maintain consistency.
  • Coordinate mise en place and ensure all kitchen sections are adequately prepared for service.
  • Assist in inventory management, stock control, and ordering requirements.
  • Minimize food waste through effective planning and adherence to portion standards.
  • Ensure compliance with HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and health & safety regulations.
  • Support training and development initiatives for junior kitchen staff.
  • Assist with menu implementation, recipe adherence, and new dish development.
  • Step into leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Sous Chef.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient working environment.

& Requirements

  • Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum **3–5 years of experience** in professional kitchens, with at least **1 year in a supervisory or senior chef role**.
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and culinary standards.
  • Experience in high-volume or premium dining environments is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene regulations, and HACCP standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
