The IT Operations Analyst supports RBC’s global HPE NonStop operations within a 24/7/365 service environment.
The wider SRO Operations environment includes HPE NonStop, mainframe, network, and distributed systems operations.
The role focuses on service quality, operational excellence, continuous improvement, and automation.
What the role does
- Provide 24/7/365 technical support for global HPE NonStop environments.
- Handle faults and incidents, escalate problems, and support change management.
- Run and monitor batch processes.
- Recommend operational process improvements.
- Automate manual tasks, suppress messages, and reduce toil.
- Provide strong client service and support monitoring improvements.
Must-have qualifications
- Demonstrated written, oral, and presentation communication skills and ability to determine stakeholder communication needs.
- Strong understanding of technology and/or financial services.
- Ability to learn new tools and systems quickly, apply knowledge, and share it with others.
- Ability to manage expectations with teams, management, and clients.
- Strong knowledge of HPE NonStop (Tandem), IBM iSeries/NSK technologies and operating systems, Unix/AIX/Linux, networks, distributed systems, and console-based technologies.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow, Moogsoft, ITIL Foundation, and mainframe platforms and tools including TSO/ISPF, VSAM, Endevor, File Aid, Xpediter, and SPUFI.
Nice-to-have qualifications
- Experience in a matrix environment, such as a large publicly traded corporation.
- Ability to facilitate between and influence key decision makers.
- Strategic thinking and interpersonal skills for cross-functional work.
Schedule and employment
- The role provides 24/7/365 operational support.
- The listed workweek is 37.5 hours.
