IT Network Engineer

Role overview

Key responsibilities

• Design and maintain network systems; monitor infrastructure, services, hardware, and software.
• Develop secure connectivity, technical specifications, and requirements for installations and upgrades.
• Set network administration standards and security controls; maintain configuration and change documentation.
• Review vendor documentation, analyze logs and performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures.
• Manage network access and domain services; recommend performance, reliability, and scalability improvements.
• Resolve incidents and coordinate with IT stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.
• Support compliance, controls, risk assessment, and mitigation in network operations.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• At least 7 years of relevant experience in network engineering, administration, IT infrastructure, email systems, and related technologies.
• Hands-on enterprise experience with Microsoft, Cisco, HP, Juniper, VMware, or equivalent technologies.
• Experience with LAN, WAN, MPLS, internet connectivity, network management tools, and network operating systems.
• Strong experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, and PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of Exchange, IIS, ISA, server hardware, storage, and SAN.
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance management; knowledge of ITIL, controls, risk, standards, and compliance.
• Relevant networking, server administration, or virtualization certifications are preferred.

Skills and competencies

• Strong written and verbal English communication, analytical ability, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective vendor, service-provider, process-owner, and end-user relationship management.
• Ability to prioritize under time pressure, collaborate, and maintain technical documentation and reports.
• Practical knowledge of routing, switching, network security, Microsoft infrastructure, server and storage systems, monitoring, access management, and IT governance.
