Provides advanced, hands-on technical support for users and technology across Alberta Health Services.
The role is predominantly onsite, with remote resolution where applicable, and may serve as an escalation point from Customer Support I.
Key duties
- Support computing devices, printers, peripherals, deskside applications, mobility devices, and other technology.
- Investigate and resolve complex technical issues, including problems without established precedent.
- Escalate unresolved issues to senior staff or specialized technical teams and assist with assigned solution implementation.
- Set priorities, schedule work, assign resources, promote quality improvement, and support a cooperative work environment.
Required qualifications
- Computer Support certificate or equivalent, plus a recognized computer science program or related job experience.
- Three to five recent consecutive years implementing, operating, repairing, and maintaining desktop equipment, applications, and peripherals.
- Knowledge of PC software, Microsoft products, Windows XP/7/10/11, and A+ Certification as stated in the qualifications.
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence and vehicle.
- Effective spoken and written English; customer service, communication, troubleshooting, and conflict-resolution abilities.
- Ability to prioritize, multitask, work independently, maintain confidentiality, and remain current in IT.
Employment and schedule
- Temporary full-time position with an end date of June 4, 2027.
- Day shifts with on-call work; multisite role.
Workplace
- Predominantly onsite hands-on support; remote resolution may be used where applicable.
