The International Operations Agent coordinates daily UK import and export freight-forwarding shipments, monitoring progress and managing communications.
The role handles shipments across air, ocean, and surface transport in line with customer requirements and contractual agreements.
Responsibilities
- Build customer relationships and advise on shipping requirements, regulations, certificates, and documentation.
- Prepare accurate, profitable quotations and end-to-end service recommendations.
- Coordinate daily import/export shipment handling, order review, documentation, brokerage, and customs processes.
- Plan schedules and coordinate loading, departures, arrivals, and shipment execution with customers and transport partners.
- Track shipments and resolve deviations, delays, damages, and other issues.
- Manage customer service, data entry, billing, invoicing, SOPs, KPIs, regulatory requirements, and month-end deadlines.
- Work with local sales and internal departments on service quality, communication, file closure, and compliance.
- Support continuous learning, onboarding, and cross-training; perform additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- 5–7 years of applied on-the-job and industry experience.
- Professional-level spoken and written English.
- Customer focus, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail.
- CargoWise experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of raising and discharging T1s is advantageous.
