Purpose of the job
Conduct independent reviews of assigned activities and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of controls.
Conduct audit assignments in accordance with accepted professional standards, report findings, and recommend corrections to unsatisfactory conditions.
Risk, controls, and audit procedures
- Evaluate significant risks and internal controls to ensure comprehensive audit coverage and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Assist in determining audit procedures, including statistical sampling and use of electronic data processing tools.
- Evaluate systems using business knowledge, best practices, tools, and performance standards.
Evidence, reporting, and follow-up
- Obtain, analyze, and appraise evidence to form objective opinions on system adequacy and operational efficiency.
- Assist in preparing formal audit reports expressing opinions on system effectiveness and operational efficiency.
- Assess the adequacy of corrective actions taken to address audit findings.
Team support
- Guide and manage subordinates in performing audits and related assignments.
Education and experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business management, together with a relevant professional qualification such as CA, CPA, ACCA, CMA, or CIA.
- At least three years of post-qualification experience, including at least two years of internal audit experience.
Skills and knowledge
- Knowledge of internal audit practices and considerable knowledge of Internal Audit Standards issued by the Institute of Internal Auditors.
- Good command of written and spoken English; Arabic knowledge is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in MS Office is required; ERP and Computer Aided Audit Techniques exposure is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
