Integration Architect – API & Middleware

Role overview

Architecture responsibilities

• Design end-to-end integration architecture across applications, APIs, middleware, and cloud platforms.
• Define integration standards, patterns, governance, and security frameworks; architect solutions using GCP and Apigee.
• Govern API design, publishing, security, versioning, monitoring, and performance.
• Design REST/SOAP, messaging, event-driven, and middleware-based synchronous and asynchronous integrations.
• Define authentication, authorization, OAuth/OIDC, certificate, and API security patterns.
• Review integration environments and develop modernization and migration strategies.
• Produce architecture documents, HLDs, standards, interface specifications, and diagrams.
• Lead architecture reviews with stakeholders, vendors, and implementation teams; ensure scalability, availability, performance, security, and government architecture compliance.

Service management responsibilities

• Support integration platforms and production environments using ITIL/service management processes.
• Handle incident, problem, change, and request management; perform incident and root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Participate in CAB/change management and production release activities and provide service documentation and reporting.

Required experience

• 10+ years of IT experience with significant Integration Architecture experience.
• Strong hands-on architecture experience with Apigee / API Management and strong experience with GCP and cloud-native integration environments.
• Experience with IBM Middleware / Integration technologies such as IBM API Connect, IBM ACE/IIB, MQ, or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of API architecture, microservices, enterprise integration patterns, and middleware.
• Experience integrating complex enterprise and government applications.
• Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, security, and monitoring for integration platforms.
• Strong stakeholder communication, architecture presentation, and documentation skills.

ITIL and production support

• Good understanding of ITIL processes and IT service management.
• Experience handling Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management.
• Experience in SLA-driven production support, incident analysis, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, CAB/change management, and production releases.
• Strong documentation and service reporting skills.

Preferred experience and qualifications

• Saudi government/public-sector project experience is highly preferred; candidates currently in Saudi Arabia with relevant government-project experience receive preference.
• Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices is preferred.
• Large enterprise or banking environment experience is preferred.
• IBM middleware deployed on OpenShift/CP4I, Kubernetes administration, Jenkins, Git, and DevOps automation are preferred.
• IBM or Red Hat certifications are a plus; ITIL certification is an advantage.

Technology environment

• The ideal candidate has a hands-on IBM middleware background across OpenShift, CP4I, App Connect, API Connect, DataPower, and WAS, alongside enterprise production support and ITIL processes.

Pay

• Pay is SAR 10,000 to SAR 20,000 per month.

Work location

• The role is onsite in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
