Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain Big Data applications on the Cloudera platform.
  • Develop scalable applications with Spark, Hive, Impala, and Hadoop technologies.
  • Optimize Spark jobs and Hive SQL queries for large-scale processing.
  • Design ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion solutions.
  • Develop transformation, cleansing, aggregation, and processing workflows.
  • Troubleshoot processing jobs, application failures, performance issues, and production incidents.
  • Support deployments and testing across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Participate in data platform migration, modernization, and upgrade projects.
  • Maintain technical documentation, data flows, application specifications, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on Big Data development and data engineering experience.
  • Strong Cloudera Data Platform or Cloudera Distribution for Hadoop experience.
  • Strong knowledge of HDFS, Hive, Impala, YARN, Apache Spark, and HBase.
  • Strong Apache Spark, distributed processing, and SQL experience.
  • Proficiency in at least one of Python, Java, or Scala.
  • Experience developing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data modeling, transformation, and integration.
  • Experience with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience supporting production Big Data environments and troubleshooting issues.

Technical Skills

  • Cloudera: CDP and CDH.
  • Big Data: Hadoop, HDFS, Hive, Impala, YARN, and HBase.
  • Processing: Spark, PySpark, and Spark SQL.
  • Programming: Python, Java, Scala, and shell scripting.
  • Data integration: Kafka, NiFi, and Sqoop.
  • Security: Kerberos and Apache Ranger are advantageous.

Workplace and Collaboration
