Infrastructure Systems Administrator (Windows/Linux)

Role overview

Systems and infrastructure operations

• Monitor server performance, capacity, and resource utilization; perform backups, disaster recovery drills, and data integrity checks.
• Apply patches and updates, conduct vulnerability assessments, optimize configurations, provision hardware, and manage virtualization.
• Maintain configuration, operating procedure, and incident-response documentation.
• Administer Windows Server and Red Hat-based Linux environments, including clustering, failover, package management, scripting, and performance tuning.
• Harden servers, enforce firewall rules, automate provisioning and maintenance, and investigate incidents through root cause analysis.

Cloud and identity management

• Configure and monitor cloud virtual machines, storage, and networking; support hybrid integrations, cost optimization, scaling, troubleshooting, and cloud governance.
• Manage Active Directory users, groups, policies, permissions, authentication, system health, audits, and cross-platform integrations.
• Apply least-privilege access practices, conduct access reviews, and support directory migrations, upgrades, and federation services.

Hyperconverged infrastructure

• Configure HCI nodes and storage pools, balance workloads, and maintain high availability through failover and disaster recovery testing.
• Apply firmware and hypervisor updates and monitor cluster health using vendor tools such as Nutanix Prism and VMware vSAN.

Experience and education

• At least five years of hands-on IT infrastructure administration experience, including at least two years focused on Windows Server and Linux.
• Experience managing hybrid IT setups, including public and hybrid cloud environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

Required skills

• Strong Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell automation, and clustering.
• Advanced Red Hat-based Linux server management, including installation, configuration, patching, tuning, hardening, and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on VMware and Nutanix virtualization experience and cloud resource management in public or hybrid environments.
• Enterprise backup, disaster recovery, business continuity, task automation, analytical problem-solving, documentation, communication, and collaboration.

Preferred certifications

• Microsoft or Linux certifications such as RHCSA or MCSA are preferred.
• Nutanix, Dell VxRail, VMware VCP, AWS, or Azure certifications are preferred.
