Role overview

Establish, lead, and develop Artelia Airports' in-house Infrastructure Team and deliver integrated airside and landside infrastructure design.

Provide technical, managerial, and commercial leadership across airport infrastructure and systems.

Leadership and design delivery

  • Lead multidisciplinary delivery for runways, taxiways, aprons, roads, stormwater, utilities, AGL, power, and special airport systems.
  • Define design strategy, scope, interfaces, deliverables, and review gates from concept through construction handover.
  • Coordinate infrastructure with airport planning, terminals, MEP, ICT, structures, and phasing; resolve cross-discipline issues.

Programme and commercial management

  • Manage execution plans, deliverable schedules, resource allocation, and man-hour budgets.
  • Track scope and fee changes, identify additional services, and manage sub-consultants.
  • Support bids and variations with fee proposals, staffing plans, and technical submissions.

Governance and digital engineering

  • Set design standards and QA/QC workflows in line with ICAO, FAA, GCAA, and local authority requirements.
  • Lead engagement with clients, airport operators, and executive stakeholders; promote safety-in-design, sustainability, resilience, and lifecycle value.
  • Govern BIM, Common Data Environments, and automated workflows; sponsor AI and parametric use cases with data security and technical verification.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline.
  • At least 15 years of relevant civil or infrastructure engineering experience, including 10 years on airport projects and 5 years in leadership or team management.
  • References from at least two major airport projects; GCC experience is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of ICAO, FAA, regional aerodrome, infrastructure, and authority requirements.
  • Strong design-management, project-control, and commercial-management capability, including scope, fees, programme, resources, change, risk, and subcontractors.
  • Good understanding of FIDIC-based consultancy and construction contracts.

Tools and professional skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Primavera P6 or MS Project, BIM coordination, ACC / BIM 360, and relevant airport tools.
  • Client-facing, negotiation, presentation, report-writing, and decision-making skills; English is required, while Arabic or French is advantageous.
  • Ability to lead distributed multidisciplinary teams and manage multiple projects or bids concurrently.
  • Chartered Engineer or PE registration and project-management certification such as PMP are advantageous.
