Role overview

Responsibilities

• Gather customer requirements and translate them into scalable reporting and analytics solutions.
• Build complex reports, interactive dashboards, KPI scorecards, self-service analytics, and parameterized or drill-through reports.
• Develop models, data modules, OLAP cubes, calculations, metrics, prompts, filters, and custom expressions.
• Integrate Cognos with Maximo MAS, enterprise databases, third-party applications, and 3D Dashboard solutions.
• Tune performance, troubleshoot issues, maintain data quality and governance, and provide production support.
• Create reusable components and technical documentation; collaborate with project teams and provide knowledge transfer.

Technical skills

• Required technologies include IBM Cognos Analytics, Report Studio/Reporting, Cognos Dashboard, Framework Manager, Data Modules, and Cognos Administration.
• Reporting skills include complex report development, executive and KPI dashboards, drill-through, scheduled and bursting reports, visualization, and analytical reporting.
• Data skills include advanced SQL, modeling, OLAP/data cubes, star and snowflake schemas, ETL concepts, and performance tuning.
• Database experience includes Db2, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or other enterprise relational databases.
• Integration skills include REST APIs, JDBC/ODBC, IBM Maximo Application Suite, TNCP Performance Dashboard, and 3D Dashboard integration.
• Cognos Event Studio is preferred.

Experience and qualifications

• Requires 5+ years of hands-on IBM Cognos Analytics experience and proven enterprise report and dashboard development.
• Requires Framework Manager and metadata modeling, OLAP/data cube design and maintenance, Maximo or enterprise application integration, SQL development, and query optimization experience.
• Requires report and dashboard performance tuning and the ability to convert business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field is required; equivalent professional experience is also considered.
• Preferred: Cognos certification, Maximo MAS or Maximo Monitor/Visual Inspection dashboard experience, BI and data warehousing knowledge, and OpenShift or cloud deployment experience.
• Python or scripting for automation is advantageous.
