IBM Watson AIOps / IBM Netcool Operations Insight (NOI) Consultant / Developer

Job summary

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement IBM Watson AIOps and IBM Netcool Operations Insight solutions.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable solutions and customize components for operational needs.
• Develop Netcool Impact policies for event enrichment, correlation, suppression, automation, scenario processing, and business logic.
• Build policy-driven workflows to reduce alert noise and improve operational efficiency.
• Integrate IBM NOI with monitoring tools and third-party systems using supported interfaces and protocols.
• Configure and customize IBM Netcool OMNIbus ObjectServer and probes; develop workflows using IBM Watson AIOps Event Manager.
• Perform event mapping, normalization, enrichment, and topology-aware correlation where applicable.
• Develop dashboards and reports; troubleshoot components and optimize event-processing performance.
• Prepare solution designs, implementation guides, technical documentation, and operational runbooks.
• Support implementation, testing, and production rollout and work with customers, architects, and support teams.

Required experience

• At least 5 years of experience with IBM Netcool products and 3 years with IBM Watson AIOps or IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps.
• Proven Netcool Impact policy development experience and experience implementing event correlation and automation.
• Experience integrating enterprise monitoring platforms into IBM NOI, troubleshooting, and production support.
• Experience with customer-facing solution implementation projects.

Required technical skills

• IBM Watson AIOps, IBM Netcool Operations Insight, Netcool Impact, Netcool OMNIbus, IBM Event Manager, and IBM Agile Service Manager.
• Netcool Impact policy development, JavaScript, SQL, REST APIs, XML/JSON, and Linux shell scripting.
• Integration technologies include SNMP, web services, REST APIs, JDBC, Kafka, Webhooks, and message queues.
• Infrastructure knowledge includes Linux administration, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker/Kubernetes, networking, TCP/IP, and SSL certificates.

Preferred qualifications

• IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps is listed as preferred among IBM technologies.
• Python is preferred.
• IBM Watson AIOps or IBM Netcool certification is preferred.
• OpenShift and Kubernetes experience; ServiceNow, Maximo, or enterprise ITSM integration; DevOps, CI/CD, automation tools, and AI-driven event analytics are preferred.

Education and working skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline; equivalent industry experience is also considered.
