Overview
Our client is a global industrial services organisation operating across critical infrastructure, energy, manufacturing, technology and complex project environments.
With operations spanning multiple continents and a reputation for delivering mission-critical solutions, the business is entering an ambitious phase of growth across one of its most strategically important regions.
The organisation is seeking an exceptional People leader to partner directly with the Managing Director of a substantial regional business employing several hundred people across multiple countries.
The business has ambitious growth plans and is focused on building a high-performance culture that combines commercial success, operational excellence and strong leadership capability.
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional HR role.
The successful candidate will be a highly commercial People leader who believes that the best people decisions are made by understanding the reality of the business on the ground.
You will be expected to spend significant time alongside leaders and teams, understanding how the operation works, how customers are served, how revenue is generated and where barriers to performance exist.
You will build credibility by being visible within the business, developing a deep understanding of its commercial drivers, operational challenges and growth opportunities.
Using those insights, you will influence organisational design, talent strategy, leadership effectiveness, workforce planning and culture to improve business performance.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Managing Director and senior leaders, providing support, challenge and perspective to ensure people decisions create tangible commercial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the Managing Director and leadership team to shape and execute business strategy.
- Develop a thorough understanding of the commercial and operational realities of the business through regular engagement with frontline teams, operational leaders and commercial functions.
- Translate business insight into practical people solutions that improve performance, productivity, engagement and growth.
- Lead organisational design, workforce planning and capability-building initiatives that support long-term expansion.
- Coach, challenge and support senior leaders to create a culture of accountability, inclusion and high performance.
- Use people and business data to identify risks, opportunities and future capability requirements.
- Drive leadership succession, talent development and employee engagement strategies.
- Lead significant change and transformation programmes across a complex multi-country environment.
- Act as the senior interface between the business and specialist people functions, ensuring solutions are aligned to business priorities.
The Individual
- We are seeking a commercially minded People leader who is naturally curious about how businesses operate.
- You are likely to have built your career partnering senior operational and commercial leaders in complex, fast-paced environments where growth, transformation and performance matter.
- The successful candidate will bring:
- A proven track record operating as a trusted advisor to senior executives.
- Deep experience within large, complex, multi-country organisations.
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect people strategy directly to business performance.
- A reputation for spending time in the business rather than observing it from a distance.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders through insight, credibility and challenge.
- Demonstrated success leading change, organisation development and growth initiatives.
- Strong understanding of operational and frontline environments.
- Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience across the Middle East region would be highly advantageous.
- Arabic and English language capability would be beneficial.
- Why This Role?
- This is an opportunity to influence a significant regional business at a pivotal point in its growth journey.
- The successful individual will work alongside an ambitious Managing Director and leadership team, playing a central role in shaping organisational capability, leadership effectiveness and culture while helping deliver ambitious commercial objectives.
