Supervises Housekeeping Attendants to meet operational objectives and hotel cleanliness and maintenance standards.
The role calls for guest-focused service and creative solutions for guests.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare attendants’ assignments and issue keys and supplies.
- Track VIP, Do Not Disturb, Sleep Out, and Double-Lock rooms and take appropriate action.
- Attend daily meetings and receive special instructions; verify check-outs before reporting rooms vacant.
- Respond to guest special requests.
- Inspect cleaned areas for cleanliness, room supplies, and repairs that need reporting.
- Complete reports and hand found articles to lost and found.
- Supervise cleaning of guest rooms, corridors, and stairwells.
- Train and assist attendants, advise the superior on performance, and help with inventory.
- Ensure housekeeping machines and equipment are handled and maintained properly.
Qualifications and experience
- A hospitality diploma or vocational training is ideally expected.
- Previous minor supervisory experience in a hotel Housekeeping Department is ideally expected.
- Good written and spoken English, strong interpersonal skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Computer literacy and Opera experience are advantageous.
Knowledge and competencies
- Hotel operations, effective communication, business planning, people supervision, and operations supervision.
- Understanding differences, teamwork, adaptability, customer focus, and drive for results.
- Friendly and caring approach, cross-cultural sensitivity, concern for quality, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
