Operate heavy vehicles and equipment safely within the vehicle yard and designated operational areas.
The role involves vehicle movement, yard organization, and compliance with safety procedures.
Duties
- Move, position, load, and unload vehicles, including supporting loading from car carriers.
- Park vehicles in designated yard locations and help organize available space.
- Complete pre-operation checks and keep assigned vehicles and equipment clean and serviceable.
- Follow routes, speed limits, traffic rules, and HSE requirements; use safe distances when maneuvering.
- Report accidents, damage, defects, injuries, and safety concerns promptly.
- Operate only authorized vehicles and equipment; handle keys and documents according to procedures.
- Wear required PPE and complete other related operational duties as assigned.
Experience and qualifications
- At least 2 years of relevant heavy machinery operator experience.
- Experience in automotive logistics, vehicle yards, transportation, ports, or similar operations preferred.
- Vehicle loading, unloading, and yard operations experience preferred.
- Valid UAE heavy-machinery driving license, including RTA Category 8.
- Basic English communication and ability to understand safety instructions and basic written directions.
Competencies and working conditions
- Attention to vehicle models, specifications, features, and colours; able to identify defects.
- Quick learner with adaptability and a positive attitude toward learning.
- Able to stand for long hours, walk long distances, and work outdoors in hot conditions.
- Good physical and mental fitness and stamina.
- Understanding of high-quality customer service.
- Basic roadside repair knowledge preferred.
