Heavy Equipment Service Technician

Position Summary

Technical Service and Maintenance

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair excavators, bulldozers, wheel loaders, motor graders, articulated dump trucks, and track-type tractors.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and powertrain faults using diagnostic tools, schematics, and hands-on inspection.
• Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to reduce downtime and extend component life.
• Overhaul engines, transmissions, torque converters, final drives, hydraulic pumps, control valves, cylinders, and undercarriage systems.
• Perform welding and fabrication tasks for equipment repairs and structural restoration.

Field Service and Customer Support

• Provide field service at customer project sites across the UAE, including breakdown response and emergency repair support.
• Explain fault findings, repair procedures, and recommended operating practices to customers.
• Keep customers informed about service progress, estimated completion times, and parts availability.

Inspection and Condition Monitoring

• Conduct pre-delivery and statutory inspections to verify safety and regulatory compliance before deployment.
• Assess wear on undercarriage, buckets, and structural components and recommend corrective actions.
• Perform oil sampling and analysis to identify early component wear and help prevent failures.

Documentation and Reporting

• Record service activities, repairs, job cards, work orders, pre-delivery inspection sheets, and service reports.
• Maintain maintenance logs and equipment histories for warranty, compliance, and asset lifecycle tracking.
• Report parts usage and recommend inventory replenishment.

Safety and Collaboration

• Follow company procedures, UAE safety regulations, PPE requirements, and applicable Dubai Municipality or ADNOC guidelines.
• Return equipment to service in a safe and fully operational condition and maintain tools, diagnostic equipment, and service vehicles.
• Coordinate with supervisors, service coordinators, and parts teams, and support root cause analysis and junior technician training.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, ITI, or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering, Heavy Equipment Technology, or Automotive Engineering is required.
• At least 5–7 years of hands-on experience servicing, maintaining, and repairing heavy earthmoving equipment is required.
• Experience with major equipment brands such as Caterpillar, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, Liebherr, or JCB is highly desirable.
• Advanced knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment systems is required.
• Applicants must be able to read schematics, use diagnostic software, and perform welding, cutting, and fabrication work.
• A valid UAE driving license is mandatory for field service work.

Working Conditions

• The role combines workshop servicing with field assignments at construction, mining, and infrastructure sites across the UAE.
• The schedule may include extended hours, weekends, and emergency call-outs.
• The work may involve prolonged standing, lifting heavy components up to 50 kg with assistance, confined spaces, high heat, and dusty outdoor conditions.
