Restaurant operations and guest service

• Ensure smooth day-to-day restaurant operations and help leadership achieve high guest satisfaction.
• Guide and lead restaurant servers and regularly perform supervisor duties.
• Maximize sales potential and encourage upselling.
• Handle guest complaints, questions, requests, and enquiries courteously; report complaints to the Manager and follow through.
• Coordinate guest needs with colleagues, the Head Chef, and Reception, and ensure shift handovers are completed.
• Gather customer feedback and maintain respectful rapport with regular guests.
• Record the day's events in the Management Report Book.
• Maintain consistent food and beverage quality, guest service, and cleanliness.

Cash, supplies, and controls

• Secure cash floats and follow company procedures when handling cash, credit cards, and cheques.
• Record voids and report payment discrepancies to the Restaurant Manager.
• Work within budgeted costs, minimize equipment misuse and overtime, and ensure adequate operating equipment.
• Complete and account for supply requisitions.
• Inspect regularly to ensure company assets are maintained and protected.
• Support the business's standing as a respected member of the local community.

Qualifications

• At least two years of management experience in restaurants and bars.
• One to two years in a public-contact position; upscale or lifestyle-brand hotel experience is preferred.
• Able to enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point-of-sale systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Able to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain attention to detail.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively, maintaining productive relationships with colleagues and departments.
• A gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor.

Work setting

• Restaurant duties take place in the hotel setting.
