Duties and responsibilities
- Prepare print files, resize artwork, prepare layouts, and complete assigned daily production tasks.
- Coordinate with production teams to meet client specifications and deadlines; work independently and follow team direction.
- Operate large-format printing, cutting, lamination, and finishing machines while following health and safety standards.
- Meet allocated job timelines and quality standards; monitor print processes and make adjustments as needed.
- Inspect printed materials for quality, accuracy, and compliance with job specifications.
- Maintain equipment, troubleshoot printing issues, and keep records of quantities, materials, and issues.
- Coordinate workflow, stay updated on printing technology, and follow safety regulations.
Skills and abilities
- Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and related design software.
- Knowledge or experience operating wide-format printing and cutting machines, including examples such as AGFA, HP, Vutek, Esko, Epson, Mimaki, Zund, Mutoh, Roland, and Graphtec.
- Knowledge or experience operating flatbed cutters, such as Esko Kongsberg, Zund, Colex, or similar.
- Knowledge of RIP software, including examples such as Onyx, Caldera, Photoprint, and Maintop.
- Ability to interpret printing specifications, job orders, and layout designs; knowledge of lamination machines.
- Organized, able to manage time and solve problems, work under pressure, and finish work on tight deadlines.
- Strong PC and Mac operating skills; able to stand for long periods and lift media rolls and other production materials.
- Flexible to work different shifts, including nights and weekends, depending on production schedules.
