Join Assystem's two-year Graduate Programme and Project Management team in its Defence business.
Support complex engineering and infrastructure projects and gain practical experience across the project lifecycle.
The role is described as permanent, project management, Derby and on site.
Project delivery responsibilities
- Support project plans, schedules, actions and delivery milestones.
- Help define and track scope, requirements and agreed deliverables.
- Coordinate information across engineering, commercial, project controls and multidisciplinary teams.
- Support management of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
- Assist with governance, change control, meetings and decision-making.
- Prepare reports, meeting packs, presentations and progress updates.
- Build relationships with clients, stakeholders, suppliers and delivery partners.
- Support handover, close-out, lessons learned and continuous improvement.
- Learn under experienced Project Managers and contribute to live projects, gradually taking on more responsibility.
Graduate qualifications and capabilities
- Recently completed or expect to complete a Project Management or Business Management degree before joining; Engineering graduates are also considered.
- Interest in complex engineering and infrastructure project delivery.
- Strong organisation, prioritisation, analysis, attention to detail and written communication.
- Confident communicator who can build stakeholder relationships; proactive, reliable, adaptable and willing to learn.
- Prior project experience from work, placements, volunteering, societies or part-time employment is beneficial.
Eligibility and security
- Must be a UK sole national and UK resident for the work involved.
- Must be able to obtain at least BPSS clearance; some roles may require higher clearance.
- Willingness to relocate or travel within the UK; relocation support is available where needed.
