Job Purpose
Plan and deliver engaging lessons that develop students' understanding of global issues and their critical thinking, research, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Encourage students to explore perspectives, analyse reliable information, discuss contemporary issues, and develop informed, respectful viewpoints.
Teaching and Curriculum
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate lessons aligned with the school's curriculum and academic standards; use discussions, projects, presentations, and research-based learning.
- Differentiate instruction and use real-world examples, current affairs, and relevant global issues.
- Prepare lesson plans, schemes of work, resources, and assessments; contribute to curriculum review and interdisciplinary learning.
- Use technology and digital resources appropriately in teaching and learning.
Assessment and Student Progress
- Conduct formative and summative assessments and assess research, analysis, presentations, written work, and collaborative projects.
- Maintain accurate achievement and progress records, give timely feedback, and identify students needing additional support.
Global Awareness and Student Development
- Explore global issues from local, national, and international perspectives; teach students to question information, identify bias, evaluate evidence, and draw reasoned conclusions.
- Promote understanding of cultures, societies, economies, global challenges, diversity, and active global citizenship.
- Create an inclusive, stimulating classroom that supports curiosity, independent learning, creativity, inquiry, confidence, and collaboration.
Classroom and Collaboration
- Set behaviour expectations and routines, manage classrooms in line with school policies, and safeguard student safety and wellbeing.
- Communicate with students, parents, colleagues, and school leadership; attend meetings, professional development, and school events as required.
- Collaborate on cross-curricular projects, provide progress updates, and contribute to clubs, events, competitions, and enrichment programmes.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain professional standards and comply with school policies and procedures.
- Participate in professional development and keep current with Global Perspectives education, international issues, teaching methods, and educational technology.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Principal or Academic Leadership Team.
Illustrative Global Issues
Topics may include sustainability, environmental issues, technology, inequality, human rights, international relations, and social development, as appropriate for students' age and curriculum.
Pay
- Pay is QAR 7,000–10,000 per month.
