The General Manager will oversee and manage overall operations of a construction and contracting business.
The role calls for leadership, project management, financial management, and business development skills, with extensive UAE construction industry experience.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee business operations and manage multiple construction projects for timely completion within budget and quality standards.
- Develop growth and profitability strategies.
- Manage project managers, engineers, site teams, procurement, and other departments.
- Monitor budgets, costs, cash flow, and financial performance.
- Develop business opportunities and relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with UAE construction regulations, HSE requirements, and company policies.
- Review project progress, contracts, claims, variations, and risks.
- Lead and develop management teams; report business performance and operational matters to senior management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 15 years of construction or contracting industry experience; substantial UAE experience is preferred.
- Proven senior management experience in a construction or contracting company.
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction practices, contracts, project execution, and commercial management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and lead large teams.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, cost control, profitability, and business development.
- UAE driving licence and immediate or short-notice availability are preferred.
