About the role

Key responsibilities

• Manage the hotel's general ledger and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing and prepare timely financial reports.
• Prepare and review balance sheet and bank reconciliations and journal entries.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Coordinate audits, VAT, zakat, and statutory filings with external auditors, tax advisors, and government entities.
• Maintain fixed asset registers and oversee inventory counts and cost control records.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and local accounting and tax regulations.
• Train and support staff on accounting procedures, systems, and best practices.

Experience and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA, SOCPA, or ACCA certification is an advantage.
• At least 3–5 years of accounting experience; hospitality experience is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, financial reporting, and local tax requirements.
• Able to manage reconciliations, reporting deadlines, and audit requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills; high Excel proficiency and attention to detail.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
• Experience with hotel PMS, POS, or accounting software such as Sun Systems, Oracle, or SAP is preferred.
