General Accountant role supporting the accounting and financial performance of an automotive operations team in the UAE.
Responsible for day-to-day accounting, accurate financial records, and compliance with UAE accounting standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting transactions and maintain the general ledger.
- Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial reports; monitor accounts payable and receivable.
- Perform bank reconciliations and cash-flow monitoring; maintain fixed-asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing; prepare VAT returns and comply with UAE tax regulations.
- Monitor inventory and vehicle-related accounting transactions; coordinate with internal departments on financial matters.
- Support external auditors, maintain accurate financial data and documentation, prepare management reports, and assist with budget preparation.
Requirements
- Minimum 3–4 years of UAE experience as a General Accountant.
- Master's degree in Accountancy or a professional qualification such as CA or ACCA.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and VAT regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting or ERP systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills; excellent English communication skills.
Preferred qualifications
- Automotive industry experience is highly preferred, including dealership or vehicle trading accounts.
- Knowledge of inventory accounting, spare parts accounting, and vehicle costing is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines.
Compensation
- Pay is AED 4,500–5,500 per month.
- Competitive salary package; visa and other benefits are stated as per UAE Labour Law.
Workplace
- Dubai, UAE; work location is in person.
