The Food Runner delivers food and beverages from the kitchen to customers promptly and accurately.
The role supports the service team, maintains food presentation, and helps keep the dining area clean and organized.
Responsibilities
- Collect orders from the kitchen, verify items, quantities, and special requests, and deliver them to the correct tables.
- Maintain food presentation and coordinate with waiters, supervisors, and kitchen staff for smooth service.
- Report missing, incorrect, or delayed items promptly and report customer concerns or service issues to a supervisor or manager.
- Assist with clearing and resetting tables and promptly clear used plates, glasses, and utensils.
- Maintain clean, organized dining and service areas; prepare service areas before opening and during operations.
- Refill water, condiments, cutlery, and other service items, and support the team during busy periods.
- Handle food carefully and follow food-safety and hygiene standards.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and grooming standards; perform other duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Previous restaurant or food-service experience is an advantage.
- Good communication and teamwork skills, attention to detail, and a positive customer-service mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment and under pressure during busy service periods.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene.
- Physically fit and able to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
